An appearance from the Hulkster at WrestleMania 22 is looking less and less likely, as we move closer to the event and no mention of any participation from Hulk has been mentioned as of yet. Usually, by now, if Hulk was to participate, something would have been announced. Since Stone Cold Steve Austin walked out on WWE yet again back in October, any hopes for the Hogan-Austin megamatch have been dashed.
Austin, you suck.

I absolutely hate Austin. He's a horrible human being as well as a terrible business man.

Well I guess it's dissappointing. I'd love to see them get it on but we all know neither would agree to "lay down" for the other (barring some sort of rematch clause). However, there are other possibilities that could work out like the one I found over at the PW Torch today:
"Mark of Boston, Mass. asks: Is there any chance of Hogan vs. Austin match at WM22, since Hogan did call out the rattle snake a few months back? I ask because the line up is not looking good and worth the money.
WK: There's always a chance that could be added if Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin are offered enough money and a satisfactory finish to the match that both can agree on. The problem is, as of last word Austin was still fuming over how WWE treated his good friend Jim Ross and how he was positioned to work against Coach on a PPV without any consideration given toward how he'd feel about it, in effect, being the storyline reason Ross lost his job. Hogan would gladly wrestle Austin, since Hogan would love to have a pinfall win over Austin on his resume. Austin, though, has told friends that he will not, under any circumstances, job to Hogan. Hogan won't job to Austin, either. That puts Vince McMahon in a tough position. In a Keller VIP Audio Update last month, I suggested a potential finish for the match, which would entail Hogan and Austin wrestling each other, getting in their key moves, and each looking strong by kicking out. Then having two top heels who had an issue with one or both of them (perhaps heels from their past who themselves are also retired) attack them during the match, leading to an impromptu tag match with Hogan & Austin as a "dream team" beating up the two heels, and scoring simultaneous pins on the heels after a legdrop and a Stunner. That way, neither would outshine the other, and they could end by posing together - Hogan flexing and Austin drinking beers. Some fans might be upset with the non-finish, but if the match weren't built around "settling a grudge" between them, but more around "the spectacle of seeing them in the ring together," fans might feel less cheated. That finish would also prevent either Hogan fans or Austin fans from feeling bad about their favorite losing. Although Hogan and Austin aren't close at all, they might be willing to go with that scenario."
I'd go with that although I think the window to build up any signifigant type of fued is closing quickly.

I don't think fans would be happy with that scenerio lol. Of course I'd love for Hogan to win clean but let's face it, there's no way SCSA will agree to that...same w/Hogan (barring a rematch clause). So realistically, that's probably about as good as it will get considering the circumstances.

The problem with your finish Dan, is that Austin would not agree to that either. In his own mind, it's either he looks strong against Hulk and gets to lay him out with a stunner, or nothing at all. I don't think Hulk would mind the impromptu tag match idea - in fact I think he'd love it - but Austin would never go for it.

I don't think the fans would like the tag match because a lot of Austin's fans hate Hogan. I think a lot of people would be very disappointed with that scenario.
I don't know who should win. I love Hogan and I hate Austin, but these guys are passed their primes by a long shot and neither of them can perform the way they used to.
Does anyone think it may be a good thing that this has passed us by?

Listen, I agree with you guys on most everything I'm just saying, some sort of Hulkster/SC interaction is better than none. But to each his own.
An no, I don't think it's good it passed us by. I don't think anyone would want to see the chance of seeing those 2 great legends in the squared circle at the same time go by the wayside...regardless of the outcome. I think both can still put on a show when they have to, just nothing full time anymore.

But the audience is smarter to the business now. I think instead of seeing it as two great legends, they will be asking who has more political influence with Vince and who will win because of it. And I think that will overshadow everything.
I think that this is a bad thing btw. I wish that we could all just go back to being marks. I get so annoyed being at shows, wwe or indy, when people will yell out smart mark terms.

And I think that will overshadow everything. Well they did the same thing with the Micahels fued but it doesn't bother me one bit. If people are going to think that no matter what (which they will) then who cares? Go with it. It's not going to change anyone's opinion on either guy anyways. I think that more than anything is what this business has become. I wish that we could all just go back to being marks. Maybe that's my problem, I'm a HOGAN mark and always will be. Not to mention a big kid at heart.

I loke both Hogan & Austin. I agree with you, sk3. Austin would never agree to a deal like that. The hopes of them being in the same ring together is a possibility and I would pay good money to see it happen.

Do you guys think it will be a bad thing if Austin were to get more cheers? I think that the audience being behind Hogan would really get to Austin, but I don't know if it would happen that way. I don't think Hogan cares who the audience is behind TBH. He just seems desirous to do some business and give the fans what they want to see. Kinda makes me laugh thinking about who the selfish guy is supposed to be...

Look under filename Johnson, Dwayne for further info on that. :-)

Oh yeah, lol.
I dunno, Austin always got better crowd reactions than Rocky, didn't he?
If I were there, I'd be decked out in red & yellow cheering Hogan on.
