Thought you guys might like to see some uber-rare screenschots of the Hulkster in his "Sterling Golden" persona, competing for Georgia Championship Wrestling in 1979. These come from my vast library of Hulk Hogan video footage, and I'd like to share them with you here. You will not find these ANYWHERE ELSE on the 'net! If you'd like to see more of this, let me know. Check it out: Sterling Golden, introduced at 315 pounds, hailing from Tampa, Florida. Decades before it became the norm, we have Sterling Golden cutting a pre-match, trash-talking promo. Here, Sterling tells the crowd he will award $1,000 to any wrestler who can break his "Golden Squeeze" bearhug. Sterling Golden makes quick work of his opponent, Chic Donovan, with the "Golden Squeeze." Play-by-play announcer Gordon Solie referred to Sterling as "a dynamo in the ring." This time, Sterling Golden is in handicap tag team action, taking on the hapless duo of Jack Poore & Curits Brazil. Showing flashes of the future Hulkster with this brief post-match posedown. An exchange between Sterling and "Mr. USA" Tony Atlas. In addition to feuding in Georgia, the two strongmen would wage war in the World Wrestling Federation a year and a half later.
