*le sigh* Looks like Bret's back to hating Hulk Hogan...AGAIN...
The PWTorch Newsletter reports that everything involving Bret Hart at the hall of fame went very well. He conducted himself very well, his speech went over well, and he didn’t come across as bitter or upset. It’s said that he seemed “at peace”, backstage.
After the hall of fame ended, he did go to the bar to hang out with wrestlers to catch up and tell old stories. Before the ceremony, he was seen spending a lot of time talking with Steve Austin.
Despite Shawn Michaels being at the ceremony, Bret Hart did not walk out or cause a scene.
There was a point however, when Hulk Hogan was going to congratulate Hart, both he and Austin ignored him and walked right past him. Hart then later revealed in an interview with Canadian sports talk show Off The Record that Hogan did the same thing to him in the 90’s, when Hulk just ignored him for 5 minutes until Hart walked away. He said he felt good doing it back to Hogan and having him walk away with his tail between his legs. Austin is also known for not liking Hulk Hogan, and there is quite a bit of heat between them right now.
**MY TAKE**
Bret Hart: I respect the man TREMENDOUSLY, and his vast body of work. But he needs to really make up his mind about Hogan. He can't decide if he's his friend or if he hates his guts.
One minute he's writing this glowing tribute to him in the Calgary Sun (www.brethart.com/column/june8.asp). You will see in this article that Bret spoke very highly of Hogan, and there isn't even a hint of any "heat" toward him.
Now he's back in "I hate Hogan" mode. If this is still surrounding the Hogan-Bret-Vince deal of 1993, then he really needs to get over it and stop blaming Hogan for something he had very little to do with. Basically, Vince told Bret that Hogan was dropping the title to him at SummerSlam. Then, unbeknownst to Bret, he went to Hogan and worked out a plan to drop the title to Yokozuna at King of the Ring. Vince then went back to Bret and said stuff like, "Hogan refuses to drop the title to you, he said you aren't in his league," etc.
Understandably this got Bret pissed, so he confronted Hogan about it. Hogan then told Bret he'd get him and Vince into a closed room to discuss the matter. When Bret asked him if he said Hogan wouldn't drop the title to him, Vince responded with "Bret, that's just what you THOUGHT you heard." Basically, he told Bret one thing and told Hogan another. It was just a way for Vince to put heat on Hogan on his way out of the company, and paint a picture that he wasn't a team player. If Bret should be mad at anyone about that issue, it's Vince. As if Bret doesn't have enough reason to be upset with him already.
Anyway, Bret needs to make his mind up. It's a little unsettling to see how he wakes up one morning and loves someone, then wakes up the next morning and pulls a Jekyll-Hyde.
